Jury Duty

I've been called for the umpteenth time for Jury Duty. Previously, my student status allowed me to bypass this, and only once did they catch me in between semesters. That time I sat for about an hour until finally being to to show up the next day at a county juvenile court building. I showed up the next day, but the case was settled out of court, so I only had to report to a table and then turn around and go back home.

I have WAY too much stuff to do at work to have to deal with this right now. Why can't people volunteer to be on juries? I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who are kooky enough that they would try to volunteer on a regular basis to be on a jury.

Been saying that for years. Lots of people love jury duty. My dad is one of them.

Of course using a smallish pool of volunteers would probably mess up the so called impartiality. *shrug*

And should you ever be in the unfortunate position to require a jury trial - would you want a jury made up of just those kind of 'volunteers'?

Just sayin'...
