Two things - first is the email I sent to the members of the household
Second was the chat I had with Eileen
I think between the two they sum everything up nicely

So Double Dogs on Friday means...

Yep, you guessed it.

MORE KITTENS

Momma cat has finally brought the babies out into the open. I think it was the result of the cold air and the promise of a warm blanket under the bench. I looked out the back door and at first thought I saw the black kitty being allowed to curl up with the other kitties under the bench. Nope. Next thing I know I had to keep rubbing my eyes because I was seeing this little bitty head and little bitty body.

So I went out the front and walked around. I was able to pick up and pet 3 of the 4 babies. Two are completely black and two are striped like mom, with one of them being much lighter and with a white patch on his/her chest and the other one being darker like the older siblings. Speaking of which, the older siblings were no where to be seen - possibly on the front porch. I don't know how the older ones and the little ones are reacting to each other. Could be a massive case of sibling rivalry going on there.

Well, one of the little black ones managed to get around my hand and stay one step (literally) ahead of me as he walked along the house wall. I stopped chasing him when he reached the other side of K&E's porch, since I didn't want him straying too far away from his momma. The other three pitched miniature fits as the big GIANT NIKKI one-by-one swooped down and proceeded to pet each of them despite their mini roars of hatred.

So, yeah, 4 more kittens.

Eileen: More... kittens?
me: I have the write up going to your other email, but yes
momma had 4 lovely kitties in that last batch and I managed to pet 3 of them at lunch time
Eileen: paste it here I'm squatting in here for nick
me: despite their mini roars
Eileen: Momma?
MamaKitty's kits?!
me: yep - that last batch that we thought she had miscarried
well, she hadn't
they are definitely a few weeks old, still breast feeding and making the cutest little protests when my hand goes to scoop one of them up
Eileen: see ... I want a dog ... kittens.
It happened again
me: yep, that was the first thought that went through my head
but, the babes are so tiny and easy to trap in a corner that provided they keep hanging out on the back porch we will be able to un-ferrel them easily enough
I was able to pick up 3 of them and pet them and love them and cup them in my hands and two of them I got to freely sit on my lap
they were all still hissing at me in protest when I left, but this will be easy to get them to love teh pettins

So, the count now:
Humans 6
Indoor cats 6
Outdoor cats 10 (gained an additional black and white poofball during the past couple of weeks that came out of nowhere)

As soon as we can! I was on my lunch break and running late getting back as it was, but I couldn't resist trying to initiate as many as possible towards human touch.

Yay! I know I'd probably be too busy man-handling the fur-babies to take pictures (for weeks).
