Ok, I get that they aren't making enough money via advertising and are now limiting the number of hours you can listen per month.
But, what I don't get is the pricing scheme they've come up with:
Opt 1) When the time runs out, make a 1-time credit card payment of $0.99 to finish listening for the month.
Opt 2) Pay $36/yr to upgrade to Pandora One, which supposedly includes special features and such
Someone failed their math class. If all I want is to listen to music, why would I pay 3x's the amount to do so? The only real benefit I see is the periodic ads go away. Now, if the ads start getting out of hand, I'll go back to just listening to MP3s.
I cannot express enough how much I miss my personal, ad-free LaunchCast station. I swear I could kill a couple of executives for making the decision to close that down. Jackasses. Yes, I paid for it, but it was also much more dynamic than Pandora. Where Pandora goes with the idea of creating mood stations with only so many songs that get played over and over again (after a while, you start to notice this) and the option to combine stations, LaunchCast gave you one station to mark ALL the songs they had available, and then filter into moods from there. It had much less repetition expect for the songs that I marked as "play as much as possible because I could listen to this one over and over again" which was quite a valid reason for playing my favorites more often.
