My first phone, a Virgin Mobile VOX 8500, has been very reliable for the past ~10 years (with the exception of not getting very good reception here in the house, but that's some of why I will always have a hard line - that and because of the Matrix). It's still on a pay-as-you-go plan, so I'm keeping it for work for the time being.

[livejournal.com profile] fleurrette and [livejournal.com profile] disgruntledgrrl surprised me over a wonderful sushi lunch with another b-day gift!

My new shiny, T-Mobile® myTouch™ 3G Slide - Black has me anxious to try out some apps that I've been seeing.

The auto find setup feature crammed my contacts list with all kinds of no longer used emails and such. It's funny - my first task is to clean house already.

Looks like an Android phone? Fine choice.

Things I'd suggest immediately would be Launcher Pro and the Layar browser (fun to play with, not a real web browser.)

SKyfire is a bit crap but lets you play flash videos (most) via a proxy.

Advanced Task killer (set to safe mode) is sort of a must on Droids.

I'll be sure to look in to those. Thanks!
